Indiana and Kentucky Debt Settlement
|
Whether you
are looking for Indiana or Kentucky debt
relief you are looking at debt
settlement.
Always pursue debt settlement as the
final stage in credit repair or you
extreme debt reduction program.
Make sure you understand the
credit
dispute process. Take another
look the credit repair
process flowchart.
If the creditor validated the debt
and you can't get the negatives off your
credit report you have to settle the
debt.
Here are two objectives:
- Negotiate negative credit
information off your file.
- Negotiate a settlement.
The bottom line is that you either
pay the debt or continue to battle bad
credit and high interest loans.
Keep in mind that settlements are
only available on unsecured debts like
credit cards, medical bills and
department store cards. Things like
mortgages, student loans, alimony and
child support fall into the category of
secured debts and there is usually not
much that can be done with these types
of debts.
Do-it-yourself debt settlement isn't
for everyone. After all, those
companies that you own money to are not
eager to write off hundreds or thousands
of dollars without a fight.
You will have put on your Tough Guy
mentality and be willing to stick with
the heat for several months.
If you honestly want to get the Debt
Nag off your back I have some
recommendations.
#1
First, arm yourself with a team
of attorneys that can deal with debt
issues in just about every state.
Right off the bat have a discussion with
them to determine the best path and let
them deal with the debt collectors.
If you complete
this info request
form I will contact you
(yes, I call your first not the
attorney) to see if this is a fit for
you.
#2
Next, do your homework on debt
elimination.
My good friend, Charles Phelan, of
Zip Debt, just published an excellent
article on this whole debt elimination
thing. It’s definitely worth reading.
Here’s a direct link to his article >>
Debt Elimination
Scams
Over the years I’ve seen the debt
elimination scam come and go, and
apparently it’s making it’s rounds again
with so many people struggling
financially these days. And sadly, there
will be unwitting people that will sign
up for the debt elimination procedure
and it will make their financial
predicament even worse. Just don’t be
one of them.
#3
Next, do your homework on debt
settlement. Evaluate your options
and realize that a lot of your Indiana
or Kentucky debt relief lies in the
hands of people who can sue you for your
debt. Sometimes its who you know
that makes the difference.
